Welcome to the Donnybrook CRC

The Donnybrook Telecentre opened its doors in 2001. Since that time it has provided many services to the Donnybrook-Balingup community, including access to computers and the Internet, training in the basic use of computers and the more complicated IT skills such as image manipulation through Photoshop.

More recently it has become the place where people can access State Government services such as contact Centrelink and taking the computerised test to obtain their vehicle driving license.

It is also the home of the popular Preston Press newsletter which lets people know what is happening in our area and which also gives local businesses chance to advertise at very reasonable prices.
Over the past few months the role of the Centre has changed and it’s heading in new and exciting directions.

Some of the services which may be offered in the future include training in areas such as:
• job skills
• personal development
• start your own business information
• computer confidence classes
• help with computer access to job searching websites
• help with on-line training courses
• help to enrol in a degree or TAFE course

To reflect the recent increase in the Centre’s role, and to keep in-line with the Royalty for Regions strategic plan the Telecentre network was renamed the Donnybrook Community Resource Centre in January 2011 and it now forms part of the Community Resource Network.

The Western Australian Community Resource Network (WACRN) builds on one of Western Australia’s longest running and most successful regional community service programs, the Telecentre program which began in 1991.

The State Government through the Royalties for Regions program has provided additional funding to help Community Resource Centres expand and enhance their services to provide access to core services for people living and working in regional communities throughout the state. There are currently over 100 Community Resource Centres throughout WA.
